This is my third Schott jacket, joining my 626VN and my 121 Naked Trucker. I feel like I’ve hit the trifecta with these three. They each cover a different territory for me: I’m a motorcyclist, so the 626VN handles the bike; the 121 is my casual daily for running errands; and the Backstage car coat is the one I grab for hitting the town, dinner, or a club.
Even though this is the Springsteen movie tie-in, I was glad to find there are no Bruce Springsteen labels or branding on the coat. I’m not really a fan of his music, I just wanted the jacket for the style. It stands on its own as a great piece of gear.
The heavy lambskin is buttery soft and feels light on, but it’s still substantial and has the quality you expect from Schott. As for the fit, I’m 5’10” and 185 lbs and went with a Large. It’s very true to size and hits that sweet spot where even if I gain or lose a few pounds, the fit will still be in the zone.
